He talked about Jacksonville’s approach to reducing juvenile crime and showed a video about Jacksonville’s juvenile crime prevention program. Mr. Timoney talked about a new approach for police officers called “Compstat” that has been effective in reducing crime in the most densely populated cities in the United States. Mr. Cheetham showed slides on “Compstat” which is a program that uses a method called crime mapping.
