My dad had a heart attack.. had his main aorta replaced, 2 bypasses… and recovered quite well. This was Janurary 2006. Now, he’s being told he needs a defribillator implanted.. and that his heart isn’t “improving”. What does this mean exactly?

I think that is a machine

I’ve never heard of one being installed before. I believe it is the machine that “zaps” the heart to get it started again after a heart attack.
