An uncle of mine can’t function without speed aka crank. This addiction is crushing our relationship. My friends and I are torn between wanting to help and concern.

What should I do in this situation? I am a resident of Everett, Washington.

Try looking up alcohol and drug rehab counseling centers near your town or city. Check the resource sites focused on your state. Look into free help on how to help an addiction patient.

you can’t make your uncle’s issues your own, or his habit will pull you down with him. this is something he has to want to deal with, and if he does, he will find the treatment that is available. What you need to do is protect yourself. Suggest you tell uncle that as much as you love and care about him, he is toxic for you and as long as he is doing crank, you will have nothing to do with him…then stick to that.
