Let’s Sit Around and Talk About Drugs to Forget About Drugs (For Those in Recovery)?
Question by Elizabeth: Let’s sit around and talk about drugs to forget about drugs (for those in recovery)?
I am 8 months clean from Amphetamines and it isn’t because of NA, IOP or Residential Treatment
Aside from Detox (because withdraw can be dangerous) I did not find any help going to multiple out patient classes, NA and then going through Rehab
I mean sitting around to talk about drugs is suppose to help us NOT do drugs?
Whenever I hear about drug use (even in a discouraging manner) it triggers me and makes me want to use (and often times I do use).
It is not so bad that I can’t watch an anti meth commercial without wanting to use… it’s more of prolonged exposure to hearing about drugs (like watching drug based film or going to NA)
Do any other people in recovery feel this way?

There are treatment centers that help with people that require a harder line of therapy. I have seen some of the work, it’s more extensive and more thorough them the common therapy. Maybe this is what you need.

cut yourself slack, you’re only human.
I pretended to be a lot more sorry than I was when I had that rant a few years back. I really don’t care much about how anyone feels, to be honest.
